Mission Inspiration: Tattoos

I have been thinking a lot lately about what tattoo I would like to get someday. I know I want it to be floral, in color, and on my shoulder. I just have to find a style that I love. I am even thinking about incorporating the style of Henna.

I love how vintage-y Rachel's tattoo looks. It has that thrift store sofa feel, in the best kind of way!

I love everything about Katie's tattoo. The location is perfect because she can wear short sleeves and it will probably only cover a bit of it.

I really like how Amanda's tattoo is black. Although, I really love colored tattoos, I think her's is perfect the way it is.

Do you have any tattoos?

DIY Ideas

If you have some chalkboard paint lying around like I do, this is the perfect project for you. If you don't already have chalkboard paint, you should definitely get some. Endless possibilities, I swear.

This tutorial seems a bit intense, and it definitely is involved, but look how awesome!

I love the idea of using books to hide precious items. Not only can you hide them in this book, but you they are organized!

This is such a simple little DIY, and I love it! My hair is still all funky and I use bobby pins to make it look presentable. These would be perfect for me!

This awesome little tutorial is for an ipad, but I think it could be made to fit a laptop, graphics tablet, etc.

This teepee is so cute! I love the photos of her daughter in it, she looks so happy.

You Inspire Me

Here are a few bloggers who inspire me in blogging, crafts, and daily life.

You inspire me to...

Take Outfit Risks
Kaylah's outfits really inspire me to wear what I think looks good. I used to skip over some awesome stuff at thrift stores because I thought it would be too ridiculous, while I secretly loved it. Seeing Kaylah's unique and colorful outfits made me realize that I should wear what I want because it really doesn't matter if someone else thinks I look crazy.

Be Confident
You may or may not have read Lauren's letter post to an anonymous commenter. She had the guts to stand up for herself and tell it like it is. I really admire her for that. She really reminded me that when you start a blog, you start it for yourself. She isn't changing herself for some anonymous commenter, and I don't think anyone should.

Be Myself
Amy's month long post series was so incredibly inspiring to so many people (I know I am not the only one who loved these posts!).  Each post reminded me to love myself, and sometimes you really just need someone to remind you. You can tell by reading Amy's blog that she simply is who she is. Her personality shines through her writing.

Learn
My new blog buddy Lauryn has inspired me so much. I have never been good at geography because I never had an interest in it, and I really do not know that much about other countries (Which is embarrassing to say). Well, Lauryn lives in Spain and there are a lot of differences in our lifestyles. I have found myself researching Spain and looking at maps to see exactly how far away we are. Lauryn has really inspired me to learn things I never really had an interest in before.

Stay Silly
Elycia has said it herself many times on her blog and in vlogs that it is perfectly okay to be silly. She really is a silly individual and that is what makes her awesome! Sometimes I read through my old posts on my blog and think to myself, "Man, I don't think people reading this know how weird I am." I mean weird in the good way, the silly way. Elycia inspires me to be a little more silly in photos or even in my writing.

  Who inspires you?

List Maker: Fun and Free

I really like to make lists. I make lists about anything and everything. Example: Today on my lunch break at work I made a few lists on some paint sample cards I found in my purse.

Anyways, I came up with a little list of some fun things to do for free!

I think I might have to try a few of these. My friend and I have been meaning to do a clothing swap for a while now. I have heard they are so much fun! Also, Dominick and I recently became penpals. Which is pretty silly because we live very close to each other. (It is just so much fun to get mail!)

Stuff I Luff

It is really odd that I just found the Sheepish Knit Etsy shop, I have been smitten with her blog for some time now. This little crochet latte is adorable.

This pencil pouch is so cute! I love the little peter pan collar dresses on it!

I simply adore these little greeting cards. They are just so lovely.

I love Gemma Correll and her cutesy doodles. This one especially.

Tattly sells all sorts of awesome temporary tattoos for fraidy cats like me!

My blog buddy  Lauryn and her friend made this adorable little video!

Rummage Sale Scores

My family and I hit a few rummage sales before going to my Uncle Mark's birthday party. And guess what! It was $2 bag day at one of them! Here are a few sneak peeks at what I found.

I am excited to wear those sandals! Hurrah for spring!

My Week in Photos

On our morning walk around campus, we stopped to feed a couple ducks some chocolate chip cookie. I love how the duck on the right looks like he is thinking, "Dang it! You got the cookie crumb first!"

Dominick and I split a Trenta iced passion tea lemonade while I worked on my art project and he did some research.

Spring has sprung! I stop to admire and photograph plants and trees quite frequently on walks to class. I can't help myself, I want to remember how pretty it looked.

Dominick has been enjoying the guitar pick punch I bought him. It works out really well actually because I save gift cards that people tell me to throw away at work.

Middle Eastern food, a smoothie, and my best friend.

One of Dom's neighbors decorated their little tree with plastic Easter eggs. I thought that was such a cute idea!

Best pizza ever= zucchini, black olives, green pepper, and grilled chicken. It was supposed to have artichoke too,  but they forgot it.

What were the highlights of your week?

Don't Fret, Just Listen: Of Montreal

I love Of Montreal! They are so interesting and original sounding. I can't help but dance when I am listening to them.

I love this picture of them, it is so colorful! I especially love what the girl in the middle is wearing.

This music video is so weird, just how I like my music videos. I always enjoy videos that incorporate drawing (such as stop motion and sped up videos).

I really like this shirt! The robin's egg blue color won my heart.

I wonder what it would be like to see them live. I am imagining an crazy awesome stage show and disco lights. Have any of you seen them live?

The characters in this video are so adorable! I'm a sucker for cute animal cartoons, even if they do pull their heads off...

Do you like Of Montreal?

DIY Ideas

I am in love with this idea

I have seen teacup candles around, but I never would have thought they would be so simple to make. (Or maybe Jess just makes it look easy) Check out the tutorial!

Look at this awesome jewelry box that serves as functional decor!

Just like Kaylah, I have always loved scratching off lottery tickets and gift cards. I love that she made her own!

I love this idea! Next time I am out thrifting, I am definitely going to pick up a few shirts to try this out on.

What a cute little spring project! Make your own eggshell starter garden!

Happy crafting!

Check out that header!

Ahh! Did you notice my header? My dear friend Lauryn made it for me! She also made my little sidebar cartoon. I am so happy with it! I think she should sell these doodles in her Etsy shop

Here is the artist herself:

Thank you again Lauryn for making all my bloggy dreams come true!

Outfit: Spring has Arrived

This outfit is completely inspired by one of my old high school English teachers. She always wore high-waisted trousers and cardigans.

My new favorite drink is water and a teabag. Just plain old cold tap water with a teabag steeped in it. Dominick thinks it is gross. Hahaha, but it is sooo good!

Outfit Details:
Shirt- Pacsun
Trousers- Thrifted
Cardigan- Target
Scarf- Thrifted
Bag- Rummage sale
Flats- Target

I had been waiting all winter to bust out these trousers. I went on a kick where I would devote all of my time in a thrift to finding high-waisted trousers. Needless to say I have three pairs now, and I can finally wear them!

What have you been dying to wear?

Dress for Less

Here is a new kind of post I like to call "Dress for Less."
My goal is to find -awesome- outfits for as close to $50 as possible.

This outfit costs a little over $50 (Not counting shipping and handling)! That's a pretty good deal if I do say so myself.

$54

1
This dress is only $15.50! I am only a little concerned about it being see-through as it is made out of polyester, but for that price I could always buy a slip! Or it could become an "over the bathing suit dress."

2
Fedoras are a wonderful thing for a lazy day. Usually if I am going to swim in Dominick's grandparents' pool, I don't like to do my hair. It's going to get all wet and messy anyways, right? So what do I do? Throw on a fedora or sun hat. Perfect solution.

3
Although I have never ordered anything from Yes Style, they seem to have a lot of cute and affordable things. If any of you have ever ordered anything from Yes Style, let me know how it went. Anyways, these cutout oxfords are so cute! I like that they are black because they would go with so many different outfits.

Stuff I Luff

Paper Sparrow is now selling cards and aren't they just lovely?! I love Andrea's artwork, it is so original! Have you peeked at her book?

I am in love with this dress. The colors are perfect and the shape looks very flattering.

This wooden Triforce brooch is adorable! Zelda is my favorite video game (All of them).

This is so cool! You scratch off where you have traveled on the map!

I love this shirt. I would wear it tucked into a skirt or some high-waisted Levi's.

Aren't these oxfords the best?! I love the colors and how dainty they look.
