Life in Instagram

I finally got a nice phone, and you know what comes with that! Instagram! I got an LG Optimus and I absolutely love it. Pudding camera is another favorite of mine.
What is your favorite app to use? I need some recommendations, I am new to this fancy phone business. (If you want to follow me on instagram my name is lazyexplorers)

P.S. School is officially done for summer, can I get a woot!?

Dress for Less: Polka Dotted

Here is a second attempt at an outfit that costs just about fifty bucks. This time I made it under $50! Although, I do not count tax or shipping. I would love some feedback, or maybe even sites that you find great deals on.

Total- $45.80

Alright so I guess I do not actually know if the oxfords are comfy or not. Don't they look like they are though? I think so. This dress is very similar to one that I have seen many bloggers wear, only the polka dots are smaller on this one.

Guest Post//Lauren's Stripey Nails

Hello everyone! I saw some photos of Lauren's nails on her blog and fell in love. She agreed to do a little nail tutorial guest post.
Hello, my name is Lauren and I blog over at Tastes Like Love about my daily adventures, fancy folk, my illustrations and delightful things. Yesterday, Chloe featured on my blog sharing her top five awesome thrift finds. I'm really excited to be guest posting on Lazy Explorers today with a super easy 'stripy nail' tutorial. The basic principals of this tutorial came from a Zig Zag nail diy The Dainty Squid posted earlier this year. To achieve an everyday casual look, I cut straight strips of sticky tape to create a 'stripy nail' using three colours. The first time I tried painting stripy nails I used warmer colours, and this time around I've used a colder polish palette. What I love most about this simple look is that you can change it up with so many colour combinations. I hope you all have a blast trying this out with your own nail polish collection!
Thanks for having me Chloe!

Outfit: In the Grass

The weather has been so weird lately. It was supposed to rain the other day, but it ended up being super warm. So I wore my boots to school for nothing. Just wait, I'll be complaining half way into summer that I miss wearing my boots, haha.
I am addicted to Tazo Organic Chai tea. Yum. Once I am done with school I am going to save so much money. I find myself buying little things here and there that add up to a lot of money.
Outfit Details:
Dress- Thrifted
 Shirt- Thrifted
Tights- Sears
Leg Warmers- Thrifted
Boots- Forever 21
I am becoming a bit more adventurous with my outfits. I really like how this dress looks with my new lace shirt. Also, I am really digging the colored tights I bought.

DIY Ideas

This is such a cute tutorial from Elizabeth of Please Note. It reminds me of something you would see on Modcloth.

Elsie's DIY posts never cease to amaze and inspire me. I adore this sock monkey tutorial.

This is such a simple little DIY. I am a big fan of silhouette portraits.

I just cannot get enough of the DIY projects from A Beautiful Mess. Dom and I both "awe-d" at this one.

How cool would it be to put a handmade paper bow on a gift?! Pretty darn cool if I do say so myself. I love how detailed these instructions are.

Have a happy Saturday!

Cheap Dates: Bookstore

I am always trying to find things to do that do not cost a lot of money, especially now that I am saving money for a trip to Chicago. I thought it would be fun to share my ideas!
Where: Barnes and Noble
Cost: Me- $4 Amanda- $8
Outcome: Productive and fun

There was a table that seemed as though it was specially made for us. We found this cute Star Wars book called Darth Vader and Son, and a Cat vs. Human book as well.

We got Starbucks, that was the only expense in this fun outing! I recommend the Black Tea Lemonade, it is the best deal in my opinion.

Amanda and I got a chance to catch up and do a bit of homework. Overall, we were pretty productive. Barnes and Noble has the best atmosphere for working and talking.

We were really happy when the people sitting in these chairs got up and left, I charged over and claimed the seats before anyone could even blink.

We had a really good time! If you have a Barnes and Noble near you, you should plan a day where you read funny books or do homework. Any bookstore would work, I just prefer Barnes and Noble because of the seating areas and the amazing craft book selection.

Stuff I Luff #15

These hanging planters are so pretty. Succulents and air plants are my latest obsession.

I have been admiring the lovely wooden sunglasses from Tumbleweeds for a while now. Aren't they awesome?!

I need more shirts like this one. This would look so cute with some high waisted Levi shorts.

I love all of the magical headbands in Honey Pie.

I need a new pair of oxfords so badly. I am in love with this cut-out pair.

Outfit: Colored Tights

Well, I bought some colored tights. I tried out my blue ones the other day. I was feeling a bit like a smurf, but I quickly got over that and began to love them.

Why I Blog

I have been thinking a lot lately about why I blog. I decided to do a post, maybe in the future I will come up with more reasons. I think it is always good to remind yourself why you blog.

     To Document
I do not have the best memory, so this is a great way to remember my adventures through life. I think of it as an online scrapbook.

     To Connect
I LOVE meeting new people that share similar interests to my own. It fascinates me to see where they live and how different their surroundings are to mine. I would never meet these wonderfully interesting people if it wasn't for blogging!

This is my friend Laura, who I met through bogging. She lives all the way in Spain! That is not quite the hop, skip, and jump from where I live.

        To Share
It is an awesome feeling when other bloggers leave you nice, thoughtful comments on my posts. I get so happy when I share an outfit or DIY and it inspires someone. It gives me those warm fuzzies of joy.

       To Learn
When I look back and read my own blog posts, I learn so much about who I am. I see my individuality blossom as my blog progresses. Sometimes I try to pretend it isn't my blog, and I decide if I would follow it or not. (I have come to the conclusion that I would, hahaha.)

I found this goals list for 2011, it is funny because although I haven't completed any of it (Except I bought a Canon), these goals still stand. These are all things I still want to do, except I am pretty happy with my job at Starbucks.

Why do you blog?
