DIY Ideas

This travel picnic blanket is adorable! I especially love the bright fabric she used.

This woven hanger DIY will transform your dull hangers into pretty ones that make it look like you bought the fancy expensive ones. (Am I the only one who think hangers can be quite outrageous in price?)

This is such a brilliant idea. Not only do you have color markers for your keys, you can easily hang them up so they don't get lost (which we all know happens far too often). Plus it's legos! This DIY is Dominick approved!

These cocktail stirs are so lovely, they would be good to mark drinks as well.

How cute are these little bee flats?! I feel like they look like something you would see on Modcloth.

I used to find a bunch of awesome DIYs on the Hellocotton website, but sadly it was shut down. The french one is still up though! I just use Google translate and am able to find even better DIYs than before!

May GlossyBox Unboxing

So I decided to do this month's GlossyBox unboxing through photos because last video was a complete disaster. I am just really bad with the tripod and lighting set up.
So this color control compact sample is pretty interesting. The texture is what is most interesting. I expected a powder and it came out sort of creamy and wet. I think it will be best for pool days when I just want to throw on a little bit of makeup. Plus it has spf protection!
My skin has been in desperate need of hydration! I am saving this mask for a relaxing bath day.
I have used this primer a couple times now and I definitely do think it is mattifying my face. I have been staying matte a lot longer throughout the day, without getting dryness.
I am becoming quite the Sebastian fan. This hair spray is another great product. It does add a bit of volume, but most importantly it is not sticky.
This little perfume stick has super cute packaging and glides on smooth, but it sort of has a baby powder smell. It doesn't smell bad though, it is more of a fresh scent.

Overall, another very successful Glossbox! They are by far my favorite sample box. Glossybox is a tad more expensive than the other sample boxes I  have gotten, but it is well worth it. You get more than the $20 you pay each month.

Thanks again Glossybox!

Outfit: A Jean Dress and a Plaid Chair

Welp, here is a different area of my living room. I really need to invest in a separate lighting so my indoor photos come out better.
This jean dress is one of my favorite thrift finds. It goes with everything, which means I can wear the most obnoxious tights I can find. Speaking of obnoxious tights, I can never bring myself to wear these. I am happy to finally bust them out.
Dress- Thrifted
Tights- Pacsun (?)
Flats- Ebay
Collared shirt- F21
Wooden brooches, acorn hair pin- c/o Sugar Cookie

This collared shirt is the best purchase ever. I wear it under everything and tucked into everything.

Here are some blurry dance photos for your (and my) enjoyment.

Stuff I Luff #63

I love these his and hers signs! I would probably put them above a bed or in a closet.

I cannot get over these cat eyes from Tumbleweeds Handcraft. They are just the perfect shape and of course I love that they are wooden.

An avocado bath bomb?? I am probably avocado's biggest fan, so this is a must try for me. Which is your favorite Lush bath bomb or product?

I saw a girl wearing this shirt at the Vampire Weekend show I went to a couple days ago, and could not stop admiring it. I just randomly came across it in the Modcloth clearance!

This tea is so amazing. Now that Starbucks partners get a discount at Teavana, my co-worker friends have been going crazy. I am about to order a bunch too!

Outfit: Couch Potato

So we have been re-doing the main floor of my house and my parents are seriously creating my dream home. I am so excited to have more indoor spaces to take outfit photos, and just photos in general in. I am so smitten with this wall full of art.
I hated this couch when it was out in the garage, but the second we moved it into our newly blue living room I knew it was perfect.
I think I might have introduced my crazy dog on here before...but if I haven't, meet Yoko. She thinks she is a cat and loves to be in outfit photos, apparently.
This dress makes me feel so fancy when I am wearing it. It is made incredibly well (As usual! eShakti rules!) and makes a swishy sound while I frolic about. I think my favorite thing about this dress, aside from the swan pattern, is the collar.
Dress- c/o eShakti
Flats- Target

Looking at these photos now, I think this dress looks more casual then I thought when I looked in the mirror.  I also really like the fact that it is so busy with the collar and pattern, I don't really have to accessorize at all.
You can totally see some socks under the couch....I'm going to go grab those. What do you think of the wall art, color, and couch? Oh yeah, and I got a hair cut! What do you think of the bangs? I really like them.

P.S. If you want to participate in a summer Explorer Series, please email me. The theme is going to be fruit, because really, what is summer without a huge bowl of fruit?!

Stuff I Luff #63

This brooch is just so sweet. I love her little collar and blushy cheeks.

Aside from the fact that St. Vincent's music is amazing, LOOK AT HER HAIR. This is the kind of hair I want, crazy curly.

This card is just so funny. Pure amazement.

This face wash is perfect. I have been using it for a little over a month now and it has made such a difference. I have less acne, and my skin is so much more balanced out.

I have been really into high collared necklines lately. This dress has just that, plus the adorable doiley-ish flowers in an amazing minty fresh color!

I Was Featured In a Magazine!

Well, my header was. Artful Blogging contacted me and asked if they could put my blog header in the "Headers We Love" section of their magazine! I really love my header for many reasons (one being that my lovely friend made it for me!)  so I was so excited to be included!
So yeah, I always forget that my email says my last name is "Dear." I did that originally because I did not want people to know my last name. Paranoia! I figured out how to fix it the other day, ha! Everyone always thinks Laura's name is Lauryn Green because of her blog title.
Some other really cool people were featured as well! I was so excited when I saw familiar faces sprinkled throughout the magazine! If you can get your hands on a copy, you should! It seems as though independent craft stores are likely to carry it. You can go on their site and use the store locator.
