Stuff I Luff #85

stuff3
I need a jacket or something that I can sew patches, like this one, on!

stuff1
I've never seen such fancy toilet paper! This would definitely be decorative only.
stuff2
The Labyrinth is one of my all time favorite movies, so naturally I love this little guy.
stuff5
This candle looks so manly/outdoorsy. It reminds me of lumberjacks.

stuff4
I love the cutouts in the back of this dress, and the pretty floral pattern!

Outfit: Out and About

Remember when I said I needed to start taking outfit photos while I am out randomly? Welp, here is my first attempt. I recently got a LG G3 and it takes fantastic photos! We just used that to snap a few pictures of what I wore that day. I feel like doing this will work better with my schedule and also help me to post more outfit posts than usual. I still want to occasionally bust out the dslr to take nicer photos, especially if it is a sponsored outfit or something like that.

Now that my hair is longer, I have been wearing accessories more often. I want to get more headbands like this one! The only problem is I find that they like to slip off of my head. I'm not sure if my head is too small for them or too big.
foxsweater4
The sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse are so comfy! They are definitely reasonably priced as well! I love the variety of colors per frame style as well.

Sunglasses- C/O Sunglass Warehouse
Boots & purse-Thrifted

This iced soy vanilla latte was so perfect. I want to go back and get one every day. I am going to try to replicate it at work but I think they use a different soy milk that I like better at this local coffee shop I like to go to.

Life in Instagram

insta
While I was happily trying to take a nice "yay we are out to eat at Mexican Gardens" photo, this TURD slopped a huge spoonful of queso all over my nachos. I DID NOT WANT THAT THERE. I watched it all happen through my phone camera lens and just sat there in shock. I have not forgotten, and I will never forget what you did that day, Derek.

Up Close and Personal w/ Isabel Guzman

Surprise! I have a new post series that I am super duper excited about. I always love learning about different bloggers, Etsy sellers, etc. So I have decided to start doing little interviews with people I think are interesting. That way, I can ask them a whole bunch of questions without seeming creepy and then you guys can learn about different kinds of people as well. Isabel Guzman is the first person I found to interview, she's super awesome and I know you guys will love her.

Here is a little about her:
I`m Isabel Guzmán, I live in Santiago, Chile, I’m 31 years old and I’m a freelance graphic designer. My work focuses on design, photography, digital retouch and personal projects related to art. I'm the owner and creator of "Mandarinas de Tela’s" dollsthere I take care of every aspect of the process of creating a doll (from the drafts to the needlework) as well as the social media management and more.

1. What was your very first creation?
In my whole life? I don’t remember exactly, but I remember drawing a lot of flowers and birds when I was a little girl. Mi first Mandarina was a red kitten made with recycled fabrics and a piercing in his ears (cute and very punk), I have it in my living room!

2. If you were to move anywhere in the world, where would you move and why?
I'd love to live somewhere in Europe, especially England. I've never been there, but it’s my dream to know their wonderful architecture, old streets, live some winters with snow (in my city that doesn’t happen),  I think it`s very inspiring.

3. Who do you most relate to? (The person can be fictional or real.)
I thought about this question a lot. I remembered movies, cartoons, singers, artists... but the truth is that now I don’t feel identified with someone particularly. When I was younger I think I related to Alice (in Wonderland), Björk or even Daria (Sick sad world haha), but right now I can’t think of someone.

4. What have you struggled with the most? (This can be in your personal life or with your career.)
In my career the biggest struggle has been to achieve independence, not to work for a company, monotony or meet schedules. It has been difficult to reach monetary and emotional balance, but I think I'm on track.

5. If you could direct a sequel to any movie, which would you choose and why?
Ohh this is hard... I think a Wes Anderson movie, because I doubt he makes any sequel to any of his films. I would like to know what happens in the future with Suzy and Sam as teenagers, so I choose Moonrise Kingdom!

6. What have you done that you are most proud of so far?
I`m really proud of being a freelancer, spend my time as I want, no strings attached.
Besides I love seeing how my dolls can make other people happy <3

7. What Etsy shop (Other than your own, ha!) is your favorite?
I love "And Smile" Etsy shop from Viktorija, she is an illustrator and makes brooches and prints of her artwork. I also like Jess Quinn`s shop "Small Art", lovely dolls and paintings. And one of my favorites now is the illustrator Yelena BryksenkovaThey are so many that I would never end!

8. When you aren't working, what can we find you doing?
Taking a walk, watching movies with my boyfriend, listening to music, taking photos.

9. Describe your work in 3 words.
Unique - Handmade - Happy

10. Where do you draw inspiration from?
Inspiration comes from everything that I like, music, art, movies, pop culture and nature.

Isn't Isabel awesome?! Her work is amazing and I am so happy to share this interview on my blog. I feel so inspired by her work and I am so glad to have met her. Go say hi to Isabel and check out her shop!

Stuff I Luff #84

stuff5
I quickly fell in love with all of the lovely and quirky jewelry from Wild Thing. I love the fact that this is a bear with a honey comb design...because bears like honey! (eh? eh?)

stuff1
The mirrors i this shop are so pretty and awesome! I really like this shield mirror because it reminds me of Zelda and you would be able to see a lot of yourself in it....whoaaa that sounds a little conceited. I meant you could do your makeup or something in it since it is big enough.

stuff1
I have a sweet spot (har har) for food patterns. This dress not only has donuts on it, but the donuts are embroidered.

stuff3
The stationary over on Dactyl Life is seriously awesome! This Narwhals over Niagara stationary set does not disappoint. You could win a stationary set of your choice by entering the giveaway!

stuff1
I have always wanted collar/cardigan chain clips! This bee collar clip has specific relevance to my life right now. I feel like my life is infested with bees right now..that sounds pretty dramatic, but seriously. Everywhere I go lately there are bees. I guess they are making their final round before winter.

Other things I am loving
+Jazz and swing covers of top hit songs, I can't stop listening. Speaking of can't stop, listen to this one.
+A Beautiful Mess' new blog design is so cute.

Outfit: Apples & Gingham

checksandapples1
When I received this dress, I immediately knew I was going to wear my apple purse with it. What I did not think about was the fact that Derek's mom decorates in apple theme. There are random cute apple knickknacks all over his house, primarily in the kitchen.

checksandapples4
Now that I am looking at this photo, I cannot stop thinking of the Twilight book cover, ugh.

checksandapples5
Let's talk about this dress for a minute. It is such a beautifully made dress. I am sad that I did not have the opportunity to wear it to an outdoor gathering or picnic this summer. It is suuuuper comfy as well. The material is so soft, it feels like a lightweight blanket. Also, this dress is 50% off right now so I suggest you get yourself one so you have a go to dress for next summer!

checksandapples3
I thrifted this apple purse. It was one of those things I just could not leave there. It turns out, it is a designer wooden purse, who would have thought?

Outfit Details
Dress-C/O Bitter Root Vintage
Purse-Thrifted
Flats-Target

checksandapples7
The length of this dress is perfect. I feel so lady-like and fancy. Next summer I will be making a point to wear this to a gathering of some sort. Also, see that nasty bruise on my arm? I am pretty much the clumsiest person ever and I walked into a coat/purse hanger on the bathroom door at work. Yep..

checksandapples2
I was trying really hard to balance this as you can probably tell by my facial expression.

Life in Instagram

insta
This was at the coffee shop on campus that I like to go to and order delicious chai tea lattes, or thai iced tea on occasion. Someone drew that...IN CHALK. There are times when I sketch a little doodle of something cute in the margin of my notebook and think to myself, "Wow! That's pretty good." Then I see Julie Andrews perfectly drawn out in chalk and I just throw the whole notebook in the trash. Okay, I am being dramatic, but isn't it amazing?!

DIY or DIE

diy5
I love these monogrammed soaps! They would make such cute gifts. I was thinking they would fancy up some Lush soaps to give to friends.

diy2
This bracelet diy is so pretty and simple. I have one complaint, why does it have to be called a slave bracelet? I feel like these photos are sort of unfortunate with the american flag and dream catchers in view. Before reading the title, I didn't really think anything of it.

diy1
I have always wanted a spoon ring. It would be all the more special if I made it myself. This diy makes it look so easy.

diy4
You guys must know by now how much I love fake taxidermy. This paper mache taxidermy diy has so much potential.

diy3
This animal favor box diy is adorable! This would be so cool to make for a kid's birthday party.

Stuff I Luff #83

stuff1
I LOVE floral tattoos! This one is temporary, which I think is amazing because it gives you a chance to test out having a tattoo. As a kid, I always loved temporary tattoos.

stuff2
The Too Faced eye shadow palettes all look so pretty to me. I especially like this one. My friend has it and I always admire it when I am over her house.

trifecta-ring
Here I go with temporary tattoos again, but look at those rings! I love the way Rejewel.me photographs their temporary accessories.

stuff3
I absolutely love Kristen's work. She inspired me to become a graphic designer after seeing her work as a elementary education major. This moon phases print is so cute.

stuff4
I really like this dress, it is simple and comfy looking. That collar is what does it for me though. Man, I love me some collars.

Other Things I Am Loving
+This blog post that gave me the most valuable knowledge known to mankind.
+I love watching these videos because I love seeing what it is like overseas. Plus, I lie to listen to their accents.
+I have been obsessed with hair accessories lately, so I am keeping an eye on this giveaway in hopes that I win!

Lazy Explorers Stationary & A Giveaway!

stationary1
The lovely Tara over at Dactyl Life Custom Designs and Stationary sent me some awesome stuff including my own stationary that she personalized for me. I gave Tara a rough list of my interests and she saw my blog so she had an idea of my style and what I like. With her own personal twist, she created this cute fox, mason jars, and flowery stationary for me.

stationary3
Here I am laying in all of my new mailing swag. Anyone want me to write them a letter?

stationary4
Here is a closer look at the stationary she designed for me. I love the color scheme.

stationary5
I thought this little button was so cute. She included so many adorable little extras like this. I am so happy to work with her. The packaging was all so adorable as well.

stationary6Her business card is just as cool as her stationary. Above the word "dactyl" is a little sort of outline of a pterodactyl. Do you get it? Because her name is Tara??

Onto the giveaway! One of you will win your own stationary set from Dactyl Life! You can choose to win the design she made for me, or you can choose one from her Etsy shop.

Good Luck to everyone!

Review: A Closer Look at Fizz Banger from Lush

fizzbanger4
I LOVED Fizz Banger. It smelled so citrusy and it was so softening on my skin. At the end of it there was this cute little note in my bath.

fizzbanger1
First, the bath water turned a yellowish color. Then there was this volcano of blue that started spilling out of the middle of the bath bomb.

fizzbanger2
I was a bit worried that my skin might turn blue, but that didn't happen. Sometimes the more pigmented bath bombs dye your skin.

fizzbanger3
I was left with this swirly bath that eventually turned a solid green color. Overall, I really liked this bath bomb. I would most definitely buy this again.

Which Lush bath bomb is your favorite?
