Quick Update Among Finals.

Ah! Finals are almost over with! I have two more to go: Physics and Geography. I am going to die. Anyways, other things that have been going on.......MY BIRTHDAY! I turned 19 on the 7th. Woot! My birthday party is this upcoming Saturday. My parents already gave me their gift, a scanner! So now I have much more post possibilities. The Instax picture above was scanned :) Also, I scanned my hand.

That is about all that has been going on. Oh! Dominick took me to the mall and bought me two pairs of trousers from Heritage. I am SO happy. I needed trousers so bad. My legs were sick of wearing tights. Besides, it is way too cold. I will definitely do an outfit post soon! Wish me luck on Finals!

Review: Krazy Lazy Candles

I am delighted to be doing a product review for Jennifer of Krazy Lady Candles. She is terrific to work with and a wonderful Etsy seller!

Meet the Maker:
Welcome to Krazy Lady Candles! In 2009, I purchased my first soy candle making kit and I was hooked instantly. I started buying more supplies and making more candles in my small apartment. I first started selling to my co-workers, family and friends and the local markets. So the business grew and I added the name Krazy Lady Candles. I wanted the name to be memorable. (I also, think we all have a little Krazy in us). I now make a large selection of candles from jar candles, tea lights, votives, chunk candles, pies, mocha espressos etc... Candle making is an “Art”. I am a proud member of the Fort McMurray Art and Craft Guild. For two years in a row, my candles are prize winning at the Wood Buffalo Country Fair. I have moved from my small apartment to a full studio in my new home. Candle making has become my passion. I know you will love my hand poured candles, with amazing scents.

My thoughts:
Jennifer sent me a 16oz Hazelnut Mocha Cake and a 8oz Raspberry Creamsicle.

To begin, her candles smell so good! As soon as I opened the package, I could smell the Hazelnut Mocha Cake one. I love the cute material tied around the jar, it's such a nice little embellishment.

I love candles that smell like dessert! I feel like I should be able to eat them! She makes the cutest coffee mug candles! Now, I would have a hard time not eating those. Also, her votives remind me of ice cream! Any one of her yummy smelling candles would make a wonderful holiday gift for just about everyone!

My Free Crappy Portrait.

If you haven't already heard of Free Crappy Portraits, you need to go check them out. They create the most hilarious portraits! All you do is send in a picture you would like them to draw. They suggest you send in a story or a little blurb about yourself to go along with it.

Here is the picture and blurb I sent:

Blurb:
Dominick and I (Chloe) are two crazy love doves. We have everything in common: we do not like a lot of sauce on our pasta, we like to eat ice cream out of mugs, and...we LOVE food (If you can't tell). We love Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job, and we hate beets.
About this picture:  Dominick just got done winning three awards because he is a beast.

Here is the drawing I received!
It's us as Jan and Wayne, from Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job!
This is them:

I laughed so hard, this has to be the best thing ever. Thanks Sarah!

Characteristics of Chloe: I'm a Sci-fi lover.

One day, I was reading one of Kaelah's wonderful honest to blog posts, and I was simply inspired. I decided to start a new kind of post to let you readers know who I am. I feel like my blog buddies have no idea what kind of person I am. So here we go! Commence operation: Characteristics of Chloe numero uno!

Here is a prime example of me being my sci-fi loving self.  I am in love with Star Wars, well the original three episodes at least. Jar Jar Binks ruined the newer ones for me, after seeing just a bit of one with him I was done. I could rant forever about how 4, 5, and 6 are the best. My sister (who is in the jeans in this picture) also loves Star Wars. We forced my mom to take this picture of us in the freezing cold. It was worth it.

The Big Bang Theory is very near and dear to my heart. I think the humor was made for me. I love these guys and everything they are about.
More Star Wars! I told you guys, I love my Star Wars. I am a Jedi-Junkie! I freaked when I found out there was a Star Wars section at Disney World. Dom and I searched high and low, then we finally found it. The main ride was shut down for maintenance but there was a cute shop and some speeders to ride. Ya know, just taking a cruise around Endor.

Star Trek is another of my favorites. I love me some Spock. I watch the original series and Next Generation. My two favorite characters are Spock and Q. They are both just too cool. I started watching Star Trek with my dad a year or two ago and we both love it.

The Twilight Zone is another show my dad introduced to me. I love how crazy the episodes can get. Sometimes, it's almost as though you forget you are watching Twilight Zone and then...BAM! Something super weird happens. One time, I was watching a VHS recording of a Twilight Zone marathon and I did not notice that the rest of the tape was used to record some crappy country movie. I watched about 45 minutes of this crappy movie before I realized I was no longer in the Twilight Zone. Or was I? Doo doo doo doo.

Let me know what you think of this new post, and if you try it yourself...link me!

Autumn weather, and shop progress.

Today was actually quite cold and windy, but the colors are just wonderful. This is why I love Autumn so much.

There are so many squirrels around campus, and they are all so friendly! I have heard that they will let you feed them, but I have not attempted this yet.

Today was one of the weekly hangout days, where Josh and I wander around campus. This time we were at least a little bit productive with our picture taking. Isn't he such a well dressed fellow!?

It was really windy out, and my hair does not like the wind. I looked like a goofball so I had to wear my hood.

I perfected my bow clip design! Now I am working on making bow-ties. Once I master that, my Etsy shop will be up and running!

A Little Note from Dominick: Halloween Edition.

Ever since I was twelve, I dreaded Halloween every year. When I was a kid, my brother and I would go over to our great grandmother's apartment to show her our costumes. Her first husband, of whom I am named, passed away when he was 29 on October 31st, so we would go over to cheer her up. When I was twelve, she passed away, and Halloween just became lost for me. Today was the first Halloween in a long time, where I haven't thought about it, and I passed out candy with Chloe and hung out with a few members of my band, without any sadness or care. I had fun and I hope next year I can share it the same way.

A Terrifically Tacky Tutorial

DIY: The Tacky Collared Shirt

This is a very simple tutorial with very little supplies, enjoy!

Supplies: Old T-Shirt, Pretty Fabric, Scissors, One Cute Button, and A Needle and Thread.

Step 1: Cut out two moon shapes for your collar. Mine have two layers so they are thicker. Also, I recommend applying a very little amount of clear nail polish to the edges to keep them from fraying.

Step 2: Line up the collars to the edge of the neckline. Sew across the top of each collar. I simply sewed across both of them.

Step 3: Sew your button in the middle of the two collars. This will hide any uneven-ness.

Presto! You are now ready to wear your tacky shirt! If you notice that your collar is uneven, which I am noticing now, simply trim the edges and re-apply clear nail polish.

Enjoy, and don't be afraid to be silly!

Bucket Filler Friday

Steffy, of Steffy's Pros and Cons is so fashionable! Her style is so unique, but so lovely! The pictures on her blog are always so crisp and pleasant on the eyes. This is one of my favorite posts. Her shop, Tea and Tulips Boutique, is one of my favorites. She sells adorable clothing at reasonable prices. I love how she has the items styled in outfits, to give you an idea of how to wear it.
If your closet is in need of inspiration, read: Steffy's Pros and Cons!

<</The Paraders\>>
Rachel owns one of the best vintage Etsy shops (Well in my opinion!), called The Paraders Vintage. I am a huge fan of sixties style dresses, and her shop is full of them! Her blog, The Paraders is equally as wonderful! I love her dating vintage clothing posts. They are so helpful to read before going on a big thrifting tip.  No longer do I have to question the era in which my clothing came from!
If want to learn all you need to know about vintage, read: The Paraders!

Arielle, no not like The Little Mermaid: It's pronounced R-E-L. I hate it when people mispronounce my name too! Her blog, Humble Pie is adorable! Her blog design is definitely on the list of my favorites. One of my favorite posts is her Flashback Friday post. I love that she collects pennies! Plus, this post is very unique and fun to read, it's like a mini history lesson! Also, her Lady of the Week posts, are amazing! I love the fun facts she gives about the "lady," in this case Shirley Temple.
If you want to read an adorably informative blog, read: Humble Pie!

52 Weeks of Instax: Wk4

(Amy made this awesome picture! Want to use it? Click here!)
If you have not noticed yet, I can never keep this post to one picture. Well, this time I am! Are you proud?

The Ugly Mug is our favorite coffee shop. They have a bagel menu! Also, they make soap out of their award winning coffee. I found that quite impressive.

Have a lovely Friday! Sorry, no-Bucket Filler Friday today. Next week for sure!

Celebration Date Night.

To celebrate Dominick and my 4 years of love, we went out and about.
First we went to Noodles & Company. Dom didn't like the Pad Thai very much, overall it did not impress us as much as we thought it would.
Next, we visited a vintage shop, but I did not get any pictures, sadly. Although, I did talk to the owner about maybe doing an interview for Lazy Explorers! So, stay tuned for that! We went to Urban Outfitters and I must say, they have way better sales online. Everything is so overpriced there, I couldn't believe it. (Or maybe I am just getting used to thrift store prices)

As we were walking down the street, I noticed a homeless man sitting outside an empty borders (So sad!), with some jewelry laid out on a piece of fabric.
Yep, that's him! He was the nicest guy! So well mannered! He must not be doing too badly with his sales, if you notice the Starbucks cup next to him. Anyways, you could tell he put a lot of time into the jewelry pieces and I just had to have one.
He knew all of the names of the stones he used and everything! I am so happy I stopped to talk to him.
After that, Dom and I wandered into the coolest area ever.

And you know we had to fit thrifting in this date! Dom is so sweet!

Woot woot for four years!
Xo Chloe.

P.S. I am recently started making headbands. I am considering selling them in an Etsy shop, let me know what you guys think!
