Let's Travel...Somewhere.

Dominick and I were originally planning on taking a trip to Chicago in July. We are having a really hard time finding a hotel that does not require a 21 year old to check in. We are also having trouble deciding on whether we should take the train or drive. Now, we are looking at other places to visit because it is so much of a hassle.  I would love suggestions from you guys! Here are the requirements, if you will, of our mini vacation spot.

Those are our three main concerns for our trip. Since I began writing this post, we have been looking into going to Niagra Falls in Canada and staying in a hotel with a fallsview. Any suggestions or experiences you would like to share?

Xo Chloe.

We stayed at the Amalfi Hotel when we were in Chicago which I don't think you have to have someone over 21 although you might want to double check - lovely hotel though. [http://www.amalfihotelchicago.com/index.cfm]

OK, so I know I'm biased because I live in MInneapolis, but you MUST come here! We have several zoos and aquariums, beautiful outdoor spaces (10,000 lakes!), a rad outdoor sculpture garden, waterfalls, tons of biking and beaches, museums, and vintage and thrift stores galore! If you ever do really decide to visit, I can give you a whole list of must-sees! :)

Brooklyn, NY? I'm not totally sure about the cheesy attractions, but there are plenty of hotels that accept under 21. When I first visited NY, I was 18 and had absolutely no problem getting a hotel. Here's a few: http://nativenewyorker10454.blogspot.com/2010/01/minimum-age-to-book-hotel-in-new-york.html

Brooklyn has a ton to offer. Check out the Brooklyn Flea, it's an outdoor market full of vintage and homemade things, along with AMAZING food! Beacon's Closet is a great thrift store. Williamsburg is a great part of Brooklyn for thrifting.

My boyfriend and I went to Chicago before we were 21. We stayed at Hotel 71 right on (or maybe just super close) to all of the shopping on Michagan Ave. It was really nice and not too crazy expensive for its location!

I cannot believe that you have to be 21 to check into a hotel. That just seems ridiculous to me. I hope you have a fantastic time wherever you decide to go!
