Why I Blog

I have been thinking a lot lately about why I blog. I decided to do a post, maybe in the future I will come up with more reasons. I think it is always good to remind yourself why you blog.

     To Document
I do not have the best memory, so this is a great way to remember my adventures through life. I think of it as an online scrapbook.

     To Connect
I LOVE meeting new people that share similar interests to my own. It fascinates me to see where they live and how different their surroundings are to mine. I would never meet these wonderfully interesting people if it wasn't for blogging!

This is my friend Laura, who I met through bogging. She lives all the way in Spain! That is not quite the hop, skip, and jump from where I live.

        To Share
It is an awesome feeling when other bloggers leave you nice, thoughtful comments on my posts. I get so happy when I share an outfit or DIY and it inspires someone. It gives me those warm fuzzies of joy.

       To Learn
When I look back and read my own blog posts, I learn so much about who I am. I see my individuality blossom as my blog progresses. Sometimes I try to pretend it isn't my blog, and I decide if I would follow it or not. (I have come to the conclusion that I would, hahaha.)

I found this goals list for 2011, it is funny because although I haven't completed any of it (Except I bought a Canon), these goals still stand. These are all things I still want to do, except I am pretty happy with my job at Starbucks.

Why do you blog?
Xo Chloe.

It's a nice thing to step back and really think about why you do, and make sure your doing it for the right reasons and for yourself. I like to pretend I'm the only reader and like you said, would I follow or do I like what I'm reading. When people email me asking for blogging advice or tips, though I'm not really one to give them, I always just say "Blog for yourself. Blog as if your the only one reading."

This is all so true. I use my blog to keep track of what I'm interested in but also to record memories. I write for me but love connecting with people through their own blogs or my own. I think you're right- it's often important to remember why you do it. It can take a lot of time and effort and there's no point if you don't enjoy it or are posting just for the sake of it or to keep others happy!

I blog for all the same reasons :) It's been so interesting to go back even just a few months and see what has changed and remember things I might otherwise have forgotten.

I love blogging for a number of reasons much like yourself. I draw a lot of crafty inspiration from reading and seeing what other people create. Mostly I love just having a place that is mine to write out what i'm thinking, notice or is just making me happy. And if I meet great people along the way that want to hop along and share my journey that's great!

Lovely post :) For me, I think I blog to learn about myself and to meet new people. I've only been blogging since January, but I've already met so many fantastic people, and I'm really starting to learn a bit more about who I am and what I really want from life!

let me first say, i love your blog. i just found it. also, amazing header. wonderful stuff. i'm going to follow you on the ole' bloglovin.
i just started blogging so i've thought a bit why i started. first, i want another creative outlet. second, it forces me to be more nostalgic. i don't really ever take pictures and i don't often look back. i'm very reflective and thoughtful, i just have a tendency to pack up my bags and move on (to be completely honest). i'd like to have something to look back on. third, i like participating in the blogophere (i love that word!). fourth, i like sharing! seriously, i wish my friends and i would do show and tell each week (actually, maybe i should get this going now that i think about it...).

I found this to be really inspiring and I LOVE your to-do list! It reminds me of mine, I try to use little doodles and colors to keep me inspired! Also have a lot of the same things on my to do list. (etsy shop, re-do room, save up for camera!)
I am not yet a blogger but I am more inspired every day. I am also very intimidated, which is why I haven't started yet...eep!
