Outfit: Positive Thinking

Today was SO sunny. I am not complaining, trust me. I am so ready for it to be summertime. School is finally done for summer and now I am just waiting on the weather.
I was really excited to find this dress in the clearance rack at H&M. It was only $10!
I am wearing these cat shoes even though they are too small. I just love them so much...I'm hoping to stretch them out.
Plus sign dress- H&M
Mustard cardigan- Borrowed (Originally Target) (similar)
Heart knee tights- Chicwish
Cat Flats- Ebay
Sunglasses- Local trade center (similar)
Satchel- Target (similar)

I feel like Lady Gaga wearing these sunglasses. That is not a bad thing, in my mind.
I am so used to Dom and I being the only people in the park. Today there were so many people! We are dedicated park goers, and we go all winter.

How's the weather near you?

Rose Vintage Kickstarter Project!

Kickstarter is an amazing website that helps to make dreams come true! Basically, you state your dream, tell everyone why it will be so amazing in a short video, and people will donate money to you (hopefully).
One of my blogging buddies, Samantha Balk and her sister have started a Kickstarter for an East Coast tour with their Rose Vintage Camper shop. I think this is an amazing idea, and I would love to see their dream come true.

I'll let her tell you about it...

The Goal:
After a successful summer tour in 2012, we want to tour the East Coast with our mobile shop, a 1961 Garway camper that's been renovated into a vintage store on wheels! We need to raise $5,000 to make this tour happen. We have an amazing collection of handpicked vintage clothing, housewares and accessories that we've been waiting to share with you!

We will use the money to pay our vendors fees, travel expenses, purchase more rolling racks & hangers to display all of our inventory and make a few upgrades to our little Rose.
The Tour:
In June, our plan is to start in Chicago and work our way all the way up and around the East Coast! We have shows planned in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and New Jersey.
The Rewards:
$5 - A thank you mention on our website: www.rose-vintage.com

$10 - A thank you mention on our website and a Polaroid photo from our tour.

$25 - An original illustration of our mobile shop, done by Sam and Mariah, printed on a canvas tote bag.

$40 - A collection of post cards from every stop we make on our tour plus the RoseVintage canvas tote bag.

$50 - A 30 minute virtual styling session from the tour with Sam and Mariah.

$100 - Two 30 minute virtual styling sessions, the canvas tote bag, postcards from all our stops we make on our tour, a Polaroid photo from our tour and a thank you mention on our website!

$500 - A piece of vintage clothing handpicked especially for you, delivered to your door once a month for 6 months with a personalized styling session based around the piece!

$1,000 - A piece of vintage clothing and accessory handpicked especially for you, delivered to your door once a month for a year with a personalized styling session based around the pieces!

$2,500 - Sam & Mariah will come to you (anywhere in the lower 48), host a vintage party in the camper for you and all of your friends, provide snacks and drinks, $100 worth of RoseVintage goodies and a whole lotta styling advice!

For those of you who are not familiar with Kickstarter & how it works... We must reach our $5,000 goal to get funded. If we don't reach our goal we get $0 and our East Coast tour won't happen. It's all or nothing!!!!!Please help us reach our goal!!! Pledge as little as $5 or as much as $2,500 and you'll get a super rad reward in return! If you're unable to pledge, be sure to share our project with as many people as you can think of (friends, family, neighbors, your dog walker, anyone and everyone)! We can't do it without you all!

So, I am offering free ad spaces to anyone who backs their project. Here is how it will pan out:
$5- Small Fry Ad Space for 1 Month
$10- Middle Guy Ad Space for 1 Month
$25- Giant Ad Space for 2 Months
$50 or more- Giant Ad Space for 5 months

After you donate, notify me with your full name so I can check with Samantha to make sure. Then, I will hook you up with your free ad(s)!
Also, if you read the descriptions for each donation amount, you will get awesome goodies from them as well! I went with the $40 one! Also, what is cool is you do not get charged unless they reach their goal amount. So no worries!

Stuff I Luff #62

Only one more day of school and I'm done for the summer! Woohoo! I do plan to work a lot, but I also plan to blog a lot! I am super excited to have more free time. If any of you have suggestions or posts you would really like to see, let me know!
This tote is adorable! It is perfect for carrying home all of your library books!

I reeeeeally like this swimsuit, and for $30....I LOVE it! But seriously, look how cute it is. I think I'm going to buy it.

I love this greeting card. Sometimes people need to be reminded that you cannot hold feelings in forever. Sometimes it feels good to just be you and let the world know who you are and how you feel.

This dress is so lovely, and perfect for spring! I am so in love with the delicate details and beading on the tips of the collar.

I really love this little pouch. I think I have a thing for designs with those little dashes. It looks furry to me, and who doesn't love furry mountains?!

Spring with Critters: Explorer Meghan

Hey LE readers! My name is Meghan and I blog over at AhoyNative, and I'm so honored that Chloe asked me to share here today! I wore this fun outfit last weekend on my second annual "Sister Birthday Beach Extravaganza." You can tell by the photos that the sun was shinning and I was extremely happy to be bare legged. The people around me...probably were blinded. Don't think that stopped my from strutting it on the beach though! I picked up these shorts a few weeks ago and couldn't wait to wear them. The colors along with the little birds are just too good. I can tell black, white, and cute little animals will be my Spring staples for sure!

Eeep! Meghan looks so cute! I love all of her little tattoos peeking out! Thanks so much for being a part of The Explorer Series, I hope to have you on the blog again soon!

Thrift haul!

So here is an attempt at another video, slightly less awkward but slightly more sick. I apologize ahead of time for coughing in your faces. I feel like I am getting more and more comfortable being in front of the camera! I can't wait to start making more and more videos of my adventures and what not! Let me know if you have any video suggestions or improvements I could make!

Thanks for watching!

DIY Ideas

School is almost done for the summer and I desperately cannot wait to get back into the swing of things with blogging. I have a lot of new things I plan to try out, so I am super excited. If you guys have any requests or ideas please please PLEASE leave them in the comments. I definitely want to start vlogging more. I think that could be loads of fun, once I get over my whole camera shy thing.

Haha, I actually just bought little kitty flats like these, except they are too small so I might have to do this DIY!

These little twig patio lights are amazing! I think they would be lovely at a wedding.

I have always been a fan of hidden compartments, they make me feel like a spy. I have to make this hidden book storage!

This is sort of a new instagram diy idea, well at least to me. I haven't seen a t shirt diy like this before!

Happy crafting!

Stuff I Luff #61 Springy Edition!

I am so happy we are finally getting little peeks into our future summer life! Yesterday was especially warm and sunny, and I felt great. The weather can really determine your mood sometimes.
1//This dress has my favorite two patterns: floral and stripes!
2//Oh how I love scallops, and the lovely mint color of this bag!
3//Eep! I have been eyeing these bunny flats for quite some time now.

4//These little garden markers are so lovely. I need to get the custom ones for Dom, because he is growing tea making plants! (We haven't completely figured out which yet)
5//I feel that Neutral Milk Hotel is relevant to every season, so this necklace fits.
6//I love these vintage-y sailboat earrings! So simple and pretty.
7//This jam bag reminds me of picnics, and who doesn't love jam?!

So here is a sort of springish Stuff I Luff, let me know what you think about this themed sort of format...or if you just like this numbered format better than the list format I usually do. (Longest run-on sentence ever)

Spring(Err..Autumn) With Critters: Explorer Hannah

Hi everyone! My name is Hannah and I blog over at Nellie and Oliver. I'm really excited to share this post on Chloe's lovely blog. When Chloe emailed me with theme for this guest post series, 'Spring With Critters', I replied and said I would love to be involved but my post would be a little bit different. I live in Sydney, Australia and while everyone in the Northern Hemisphere is gearing up for Spring, we're slowly easing into Autumn.
I took these photos on a Saturday afternoon in my neighbourhood. While we've had some really nice cool mornings lately, this particular afternoon actually felt a lot like it was still Summer and I was a bit too warm in jeans. At least the leaves are slowly changing colour and the chilly mornings are a welcome change on my walks to the train station each day.
Now I wouldn't normally associate the word 'critter' with horses, but unfortunately it's the closest I could get without kidnapping some poor animal from someone's backyard. Our landlord doesn't allow pets in our apartment, so for the meantime I spend my time waiting for my brother to upload a new photo of his gorgeous puppy Chester on Instagram.
I often wear really casual outfits like this on the weekends, especially when I'm just lazing about the house, cooking up a big breakfast or going for coffee runs to our local cafe. That pretty much sums up how I spent this particular day. I'll conclude with a funny story about these jeans. I wore them to work recently (we have a very casual office) and a colleague of mine excitedly exclaimed, "I love your cat jeans!", to which the rest of the office cracked up laughing and told her to put on her glasses.
Jeans and shirt from Urban Outfitters, Minnetonka moccasins
Thanks to Chloe for having me and I'm looking forward to seeing some more posts in this series, perhaps with some real life critters for me to gush over.

Thank you so much for guest posting, Hannah! Those jeans are adorable and perfect for your upcoming autumn weather!

Spring with Critters: Explorer Ally

Hey there, I'm Ally and I blog over at Now That's Pretty. For this DIY I wanted to create something extra springy that I could wear to welcome in the bright flowers and warmer days. I don't think there's much more springy than baby animals and so I rustled up these cute badges! I've used embroidery thread to decorate mine but you can use pretty much anything; they'd look really cute with small flowers or sequins- oh the possibilities!

You will need:
Printable Iron on transfer paper
White felt
Embroidery Thread
A wide eyed needle
Scissors
Nail varnish
A badge fitting
Some cute baby animal pictures (that's right I just gave you permission to browse the internet for some fluffy cuteness for a while. You're welcome.)

1) Firstly print your pictures on your transfer paper. Remember to flip them on the computer as the ironing will reverse them.
2) Now cut out your pictures cutting as close to the images as you dare. It's much easier to trim your pictures at this stage than when they're on felt.
3) Now cut out a piece of felt for your transfer. It should be a little larger to allow for embellishing.
4) Lay your transfer image down on your felt and iron.

5) Allow your paper to cool a little before lifting up.
6) Ta-da! You've made cat fabric, life is complete.
7) Now for the embellishing. I've chosen to embroider my designs (don't worry it's super easy!) but you can use sequins or glitter or whatever floats your boat. Take a pen and mark out your design.
8) Thread your embroidery thread. For me this is the trickiest part of the whole thing. Sigh.

9) When embroidering just work to build up colour using short straight lines.
10) To make the bow tie design all you need to do is a block on one side...
11) ...A block on the other...
12) And then a central piece which runs in the opposite direction. (So I had don't side parts of the bow tie from side to side whereas the middle I stitched up and down)

13) Tie a not in the back of your design to stop it unravelling.
14) If you want to add more detail then simply go over the top with another colour.
15) Now to seal your image apply nail varnish over the top avoiding the embroidery thread and wait to dry before cutting out.
16) Lastly apply a badge or brooch fitting to the back and you are done!

Thanks so much for sharing this awesome DIY in the first Explorer Series! I am seriously in love with the kitty! You should sell these, Ally! Stop over at Now That's Pretty and say hi to Ally!
