Giveaway & Interview with Mystic Moose!

Hello, I have miss Ceridwen of Mystic Moose here today for a little interview and giveaway!
What inspired you to create totes?
I love the idea of looking after the planet, and I know that simple things like using less plastic bags can make a difference.  After finishing my art degree, I wanted to start a creative business that enabled me to share my art and also encourage environmentally friendly behaviour. Reusable tote bags were the perfect way of combining the two, and I am now branching out into making other lovely things like pocket mirrors, pencil cases and cards!

How do you get your creative juices flowing?
I am inspired by things that I love. Most of my ideas come from events in my everyday life which prompts a doodle that develops into something else. I like to make sure I’m surrounded by inspiration in my studio by plastering the walls with colourful and beautiful things, but I always find that spending time outside on a sunny day can be the best way to get the creative juices flowing!
Which is your favorite tote from your shop?
At the moment I’m in love with the Three Gnomes Tote and the Vintage Teacups Tote, because they remind me of summer!

How did you come up with the name, Mystic Moose?
When I was a child I often visited a family friend after school, and I would sit in their garden and draw in my sketch book. They had a dog called Moose because she had big brown floppy ears. Moose used to sit next to me whilst I drew, although I have a sneaking suspicion she mainly wanted to try and chew my coloring pencils! After a little while, she learned what time I would be visiting and would sit by the door and wait for me to arrive. My friend's mum used to joke that Moose always knew when i was going to visit and we began to call her ‘Mystic Moose’. I always I associate making art with Mystic Moose, sitting next to me and trying to gnaw on the coloring pencils, and it seemed like the perfect name for my crafty business!
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not creating designs and making totes?
Aside from enjoying  a cup of tea with friends, visiting art galleries and discovering wonderful things in second-hand shops, I love spending time with animals and I am a volunteer at a local animal shelter, where I walk rescue dogs,  although admittedly, most of my time is spent making delightful new things for my shop!

One lucky winner will win a tote of their choice from the Mystic Moose Etsy shop! The Vintage Teacups and Saucers tote is my favorite!
